MT165EMore Hunts from this outfitter
Hunt Description
For the elk hunter looking for a true trophy quality experience, in an unpressured environment, this is the hunt you've been seeking. With 180,000 acres of private land leased you are going to feel like the only hunter in the area. Lightly hunted to insure that the trophy quality remains year after year, this outfitter is able to boast an average of 340 class taken with a number of 370 and better available each year. It is not uncommon for bulls in excess of 350 to be roaming the ranch well after the hunting seasons have closed. They remain because there were more trophy bulls than hunters to take them - not because of lack of effort.
Though a tag to hunt this ranch does require a drawing, it is much easier to draw than comparable areas in other states. While 20 points in AZ, NV or UT won't be enough to assure a successful draw, an archery hunter is right in the game for a tag if they have only 6 points in this Montana unit. Though rifle tags are a bit tougher to draw, applicants have 10x better chance of drawing here than in other states.
Once a tag is drawn, hunters will stay in the modern ranch house right on the property. Hot and cold running water, showers, comfortable beds with clean linens and hearty meals await you morning and night.
Hunting tactics employed on this hunt are calling and then spot and stalk as the rut winds down. Most hunters will experience calling to and likely pursuing a bull that would score in excess of 340. With this quality, one might think that this is a high fence estate hunt, but be assured, these are free range trophy quality elk. No high fences here.
The outfitter has been guiding hunters for over 30 years and knows how to put his clients into the best situation to harvest one of the trophy bulls. Whether you're calling or spot and stalk you can trust that he and his guides have the experience to push the odds of success into your favor.
