12,000 acres of private land at the foot of the Wyoming Range in western Wyoming is the location for this hunt. This ranch shares miles of border with the Bridger National Forest. If necessary, this forest land is also available. Hunters will hike out from the ranch cabin and be hunting almost immediately. During the rut, it is not uncommon to hear bulls bugling from the cabin.

Though this hunt is set at the base of some very tall mountains, it is not always necessary to ascend to those heights. Often the elk are found in the lower foot hills and frequenting the agricultural fields on the ranch. This is a good hunt for those that are not as physically prepared as they might like to be. With the increased hunting pressure on the surrounding public lands, many elk will seek security within the boundaries of this ranch. New elk will move onto the ranch throughout the hunting season.

Permits to hunt this ranch are by drawing and it will likely take a few points to draw. It is possible to draw the very first time a hunter applies but usually takes a few years of points. It is located in the Wyoming general west elk unit.

All meals, lodging, ranch access, guide and game care are included in the hunt rate. A group of 2 will likely be the only hunters on the ranch during their booked dates.
