Big Rim Outfitters, owned and operated by Bob Daugherty is a small family operated outfitting service. All hunts are guided personally by Bob and his immediate family members - all of who have extensive knowledge and experience with the units in which they guide. Many hunts are based out of their ranch house on unit 21A or a comfortable tent camp set closer to the hunt area. And these hunt areas are not determined each year until the pre-season scouting has been completed. This attention to detail and commitment to providing a quality hunting experience has made Big Rim Outfitters a highly successful New Mexico Outfitter.

Many New Mexico outfitters spread themselves throughout the many units in the state. Big Rim Outfitters puts their entire focus on the units close to home. By doing this, they are able to insure that you are hunting the best trophies each of these unit have to offer, especially the Wilderness unit of 16B. This unit requires horses and mules to hunt effectively and Bob and family spend all year riding and scouting this area. By the time the hunting season arrives, they already know what bulls they will be hunting this year. This knowledge insures that they will be able to maintain the exceptionally high hunter success rate they have developed. Even their archery hunters enjoy a success rate significantly higher than the overall state average. Archery hunters are also offered full 8-day hunt rather than a 4 to 6 day hunt most other outfitters offer.
